Dr. Zev Schulhof, a Staten Island native, wears two hats as both an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a physician. Currently, he serves as an attending surgeon at New York City’s prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital.
From an early age, Dr. Schulhof was drawn to the medical field, initially dreaming of becoming a pediatrician. However, his career trajectory took an unexpected turn during his time as a volunteer EMT. Witnessing an oral surgery emergency sparked a new passion that was further cemented during dental school when he performed his first oral surgery in an operating room.
What captivated Dr. Schulhof about oral and maxillofacial surgery was its unique fusion of dentistry and medicine, coupled with the artistic aspect of working with his hands to enhance patients’ lives. This combination continues to fuel his enthusiasm for the profession.
