Your Full Mouth Dental Implant Options

Iconic Implant Institute offers a variety of options for tooth replacement. If you’re looking for a full arch of teeth to be replaced, we generally recommend either All-on-X dental implants or implant supported dentures.

All-on-X full mouth dental implants are meant to permanently replace an entire arch of teeth. They are placed on four or more titanium posts that are implanted into your jawbone, creating a strong foundation that simulates the roots of your teeth. On the other hand, implant-supported dentures are fully removable dentures that attach to similar titanium posts.

The Difference Between Dentures and All-on-X Dental Implants

Dentures used to be the go-to solution for missing teeth, but as technology has advanced, so have your options. While dentures shift around in your mouth and require adhesives, dental implants are fixed in your mouth and even provide the stimulation your jawbone needs to remain healthy. This not only improves your health, but the appearance of your face. You’ll restore the ability to eat an unlimited diet, and without your soft palate being covered, as it is with dentures, you’ll be able to fully taste the food you eat, as well! Dental implants also get rid of the need for inconvenient denture cleaners: you simply take care of them by flossing and brushing them regularly, just as you would your natural teeth.

Three Steps to Restore Your Smile

Step 1: Personalized Consultation

dr schulhof explains how dental procedure works

Your initial consultation with an implant doctor is the most important part of getting dental implants. You’ll come to our Teaneck, NJ office to discuss your problems and your goals for your smile, and our experienced implant dentists will take a cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan to create a 3D virtual model of your mouth and jaw. This enables us to create custom surgical guides just for you, which will improve the results of your surgery. If you already have recent scans from your referring dentist, please either bring them to this consultation or have your dentist forward them to us.

Step 2: Dental Implant Surgery

On the day of your surgery, you’ll be sedated for your comfort. You can choose between oral sedation, nitrous oxide, IV sedation or general anesthesia at our practice. We use the most cutting-edge technology for dental implant surgery, including 3D printed custom surgical guides and diode lasers, ensuring a swift and painless surgery for you. We’ll send the plans for your prosthetic to your referring dentist, and you’ll walk away from your surgery with a natural-looking set of temporary replacements!

Step 3: Final Restoration

Your jaw will need four to six months to heal after your dental implant surgery. During this time, the titanium posts will fuse with your jaw in a process called osseointegration. Once your mouth has had the chance to heal, you’ll come back to get your final tooth replacements.
